Nikolett Kovacs, P.Eng., P.Geo., M.Sc., M.Eng., is a Professional Engineer and Geoscientist based in Whitehorse, Yukon, specializing in sustainable mining practices, progressive reclamation, and integrated mine closure. She has more than 12 years of experience covering various technical areas, including mining, First Nation engagement, geoscience, and regulatory support. Nikolett has a diverse background in multiple roles and projects across Canada’s North, from managing multidisciplinary teams to technical leadership in operations. In the last four years, Nikolett’s expertise focused on project management of mining and mine closure projects, interpretation, and application of regulatory guidelines to develop integrated program design in operations, mine closure, and remediation. Nikolett has a well-rounded knowledge of the unique social and environmental setting and technical challenges of the North, as well as the governance, legislative, and regulatory landscape of the territories.
