Our History
Originally established in 1995 as Access Consulting Group, Ensero began as a regional consultancy in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, with a reputation for excellence in permitting and environmental compliance consultancy. The company was acquired by Alexco Resource Corp. (now Hecla Mining) in 2006 to support long-term licensing, permitting, environmental compliance, and closure projects at its portfolio of legacy and prospective mine sites in the Yukon. The group operated as the environmental division of Alexco but also began serving other clients in Canada and the US, adding capabilities and rapidly growing to the point where a stand-alone venture made sense. In 2020, a group of leaders purchased the environmental business from Alexco and formed Ensero Solutions, Inc. Ensero joined the True Environmental platform of companies in 2024.

What Makes Us Unique
At Ensero, we distinguish ourselves through our unique approach, combining technical expertise, operational insight, and a client-first philosophy. Here’s how we stand apart:
-
We Think & Act Like Site Owners: Our experience as both consultants and owner/operators gives us invaluable insight. Having co-owned and managed a mining reclamation project in Canada, we apply the same rigor, strategic thinking, and operational considerations to our client projects as we do to our own operations. This ensures a practical, results-driven approach that aligns with our clients' long-term goals.
-
Indigenous Engagement Excellence: Our partnerships with Indigenous communities, starting in the Yukon Territory, have profoundly shaped our approach to project management across North America. We actively integrate Indigenous perspectives, respecting traditional knowledge and ensuring that every project involving Indigenous communities is rooted in collaboration, trust, and mutual respect.
-
Multi-Disciplinary Approach, Outcome-Driven Solutions: As planners, scientists, and engineers, we take a holistic view of every project. Our approach emphasizes comprehensive site solutions that align with long-term success, focusing on closure strategies and cost-effective technologies. We consistently find that hybrid solutions—blending regulatory, scientific, and engineering elements—deliver the best outcomes, addressing the full range of site challenges.
-
Committed to Your Best Solution: At Ensero, our priority is always what’s right for your business, not our bottom line. As technology-neutral advisors, we guide you toward the most effective solutions. When specialized needs extend beyond our expertise, we connect you with trusted partners who excel in those areas, ensuring your project is handled by the best experts.
-
Performance-Based Partnership: We back our solutions with confidence, offering flexible contracting models that include fixed-price, milestone-based, and liability transfer arrangements. By sharing project risk with our clients, we build strong, performance-driven partnerships that deliver results while providing transparency and peace of mind.
In essence, our unique combination of operational experience, deep community engagement, multidisciplinary expertise, and a genuine commitment to the best outcomes for our clients sets us apart in the industry.
